Or does Beta in Gmail not really mean what it generally means. Maybe it's their way of saying Gmail is in constant development.

Reply:yeah i think that you got it. I think its in BETA because each second of the day we get more memory and there are new features comming out each month or so.
Reply:At least google is honest enough to say Gmail is beta. If only MS was as honest with their software eg have you seen any questions relating to problems with the 麓beta麓 ( pre service pack1 ) Vista? If Vista was a car, they would have had a recall on it by now.
